Goals

The goal of Wilder’s Preparatory Academy Charter  School (WPACS) is to foster an environment that is conducive to mastering critical life skills necessary for success in the 21st Century. Goals give clear purpose to the collaboration and teamwork of the charter school. WPACS will enable students to become self-motivated, competent, and life-long learners by providing a curriculum which addresses the goals of the community: emphasis on literacy education, skills programs to enhance the learning of students who have fallen behind in the traditional public school system, standards-based curriculums which are measurable and accountable and strong parent involvement.

WPACS goals are as follows:
  • Develop the whole child – emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually
  • Develop life-long learners through a wide variety of learning experiences
  • Challenge and stimulate students to become independent learners and thinkers
  • Develop excellent study skills that enable students to successfully matriculate to the next level
  • Motivate students through a wide variety of learning experiences to develop a life-long love for learning
  • Develop and maintain an educational atmosphere that fosters and communicates respect for individuals regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, and disability
  • Employ, retain and develop high quality staff
  • Create an environment which develops self-esteem and discipline
  • Provide a plan for self-evaluation to promote continuous improvement
  • Maintain, secure and enhance the grounds and facilities of the school
  • Provide opportunities to incorporate multicultural learning across the curriculum
  • Prepare students to be successful with the California STAR Testing Program, which includes California Standards Tests
  • Implement a rigorous Standards-Based Curriculum and transitioning to Common Core State Standards
