School Safety Plan
School Safety Plan and Asbestos Management Plan
WPACS has established a Comprehensive School Safety Plan. The Plan is available upon request at the main office and on our website through PDF.
WPACS has also established an Asbestos Management Plan. As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe school environment, we will be conducting a thorough asbestos inspection and implementing a continuous surveillance program. This initiative is in compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA).
Key Plan Details:
-
Inspection Dates: The initial inspection will take place from August 1 to August 5, 2024. Follow-up inspections will be conducted periodically to monitor the condition of any identified asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).
-
Inspection Areas: The inspection will cover all school buildings, including classrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas. Special attention will be given to areas where ACMs are most likely to be found.
-
Qualified Professionals: The inspection will be carried out by certified asbestos professionals who are trained to identify, manage, and safely handle ACMs.
-
Safety Measures: During the inspection process, all necessary safety measures will be taken to ensure there is no risk to students, staff, or visitors. Areas undergoing inspection will be cordoned off and clearly marked.
-
Surveillance Plan: Following the initial inspection, we will implement a surveillance plan that includes regular monitoring and maintenance of any identified ACMs. This plan will help ensure that these materials remain in good condition and do not pose a health risk.
