About Me

Hello students and parents of Wilder’s Preparatory Academy Charter School!

My name is Ms. Allison Gorman and I will be teaching 4th grade this year. I’m very excited to be joining Wilder’s for the 2020-2021 school year. Although I may be new to Wilder’s, I am not new to 4th grade. I have been teaching upper elementary and science for 8 years. The past three years I've taught 4th grade at a charter school in South Los Angeles.

I am from Redondo Beach and grew up loving the beach, especially on a hot day. I left the beach briefly to earn a B.A in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Credential from Sonoma State University, but returned back home after graduating. In 2017, I earned a Master’s in Reading Instruction from Loyola Marymount University to help students become better readers and to build strong comprehension skills. In my free time I enjoy hiking, cooking, and gardening.

This year presents some new challenges, but I am ready and prepared to rise above in order to support students as they learn and grow. I am committed to making this year engaging, interactive, and collaborative. I encourage parents and families to get involved and develop a strong parent partnership with me to ensure all students are achieving mastery in all content areas. Please reach out and contact me through email or through Class Dojo if any questions arise throughout the year.

I look forward to continuing the Wilder’s legacy by helping each student become a champion for their own learning.
