WPACS ELOP/ELOG PLAN

EXPANDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM GRANT (ELOG)

EXPANDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM (ELOP)

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
WPACS/WPACMS and Teach 2 Reach are partnering to provide a safe place for students to stay after school. WPACS/WPACMS
is committed to providing equity and access through expanded learning opportunities by increasing service offerings which focus on academic and engagement, at no cost to families. Although programming is currently limited to academically driven, the intent is to eventually grow the program to additional enrichment opportunities. Funding for the program is provided through grants from the California Department of Education.

Programming begins at school dismissal every day, including Minimum Days, and ends at 5:00PM.

All students must be picked up at the side gate by 5:00 pm unless otherwise enrolled in the Teach 2 Reach PAID after school program.

TK/K students will also have access to before school opportunities at the Kindergarten Campus.

Program Requirements

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program is required by California Education Code Section 46120.  It states that LEAs must provide access to 50% of unduplicated pupils in grades TK-6 access to expanded learning opportunity programs.

Students in TK-6th grade must have access to no less than 9 hours of combined instructional time and expanded learning opportunities daily. Including at least 30 non-school days.

REGISTRATION

Registration Link:

As state funding requires, priority registration is given to students who qualify in any of the following categories.

  • Foster Youth
  • Homeless Youth
  • Low-Income as determined by eligibility for Free / Reduced Meal Programs by Child Nutrition Services.

Students who do not qualify in one of the categories listed above, will be admitted to the program if space is available.

Participants must be entering grades Transitional Kindergarten - 8th Grade.

Registration starts on 1/13/2025 - May 30/2025. Participants may register at any time during this period.

ELOP applications can be completed as soon as possible. Space is limited, and students will be placed in the program on a first come, first served basis by grade level and priority. Once all spots are filled, students will be placed on a waiting list and added to the ELOP roster as space becomes available.

COST

As long as grant-funding exists, the program will be provided free of cost. Donations are always welcome.

The program will be open for students enrolled on every school day, when students are on campus. The only exception is the professional development days, listed on your 24-25 Parent Calendar.
