Counseling and Support Services

Our school-based counseling program is designed to provide comprehensive social-emotional
support to students through a strengths-based, trauma, and resilience-informed approach.
The program is structured around three tiers of support, ensuring that every student receives
the level of care that best meets their needs, fostering well-being and healthy communities.
  1. Universal Support (Tier 1): At the foundation, all students benefit from universal
interventions that promote a positive school environment and emotional well-being.
This tier includes school-wide programs, classroom lessons, and activities that build
social-emotional skills, resilience, and a sense of belonging, ensuring a strong
    community foundation.

  2. Targeted Support (Tier 2): For students who require additional support, targeted
interventions provide small group counseling and skill-building activities. These
efforts are focused on specific areas of need, such as managing stress, improving
peer relationships, or coping with transitions. The goal is to bolster student's
strengths while addressing their unique challenges, fostering resilience and growth.

  3. Intensive Support (Tier 3): The most individualized and intensive level of support is
available for students facing significant emotional or behavioral challenges. This tier
involves one-on-one counseling, collaboration with families, and coordination with
external resources as needed. Our approach is deeply informed by an
understanding of trauma and resilience, ensuring that interventions are tailored to
support each student's well-being and integration into a healthy, supportive
    community.

Central to our program is a commitment to culturally responsive practices. We recognize and
honor the diverse cultural backgrounds of our students and their families, ensuring that all
interventions are respectful, relevant, and effective across different cultural contexts. This
approach helps build trust, fosters inclusivity, and strengthens the overall impact of our support
efforts.

Counseling Environment
Additionally, a key component of our program is the collaborative partnership among parents,
teachers, staff, and students. By working together as a cohesive community, we strive to
create an environment where academic success and emotional well-being are mutually
reinforced. This collaboration ensures that every student can thrive academically and
emotionally through open communication, shared goals, and collective responsibility.
